Welcome! My name is Eri (pronounced like Eddie).
I aim to offer supportive touch and space where people can rest and connect to their capacity for balance, ease, and presence.
I work to embody a trauma-sensitive and anti-oppressive approach to care. I am committed to ongoing learning, unlearning, practice, and imagining towards a world where all people are honored in their bodies.
My bodywork practice is focused on relaxation, connection, and slow, intentional touch informed by deep attention to the body. I practice from a foundation in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy, supplemented by training in craniosacral therapy and myofascial techniques. My approach is client-centered and integrative: I collaborate with clients to design sessions tailored to their needs, often combining modalities.
I practice Reiki and am trained and attuned in the Usui tradition. A gentle, non-invasive Japanese practice of energy work, Reiki can promote relaxation and stress reduction and support a person’s natural capacity for healing.
A Reiki session can be a space to rest deeply. I begin by inviting the participant to set an intention. I then invite them to lie or sit fully clothed, and I offer supportive energy, following intuitive sensing and placing my hands lightly on or off their body, typically holding each position for several minutes. Experiences that may arise include relaxation, calm, clarity, and a sense of connection or of well-being.
As a child, I was introduced to a culture of caring touch by elders who invited me to knead their shoulders and walk on their backs. I am fascinated by how powerfully those moments of rhythm, connection, and belonging to a timeless flow of care have guided and sustained me. My practices of bodywork and energy work are ways that I seek to honor the beautiful and critical human determination to care for one another.
