About Our Community Fund
A fundamental part of Durham Bodywork's mission is increasing access to bodywork and whole-person healing. To further this mission, our Community Fund collects direct donations and 5% of the cost of each clinic session, so that we can provide even more healing work right here in Durham, NC.
This fund may support you if our base session rate of $55 is not affordable, or if you have other financial barriers to attending. We know the cost of our service is only the beginning of accessibility. If you would benefit from this work, but there are real life needs that make it not possible for you, we want to help!
We have a limited number of community fund spots available for each clinic, including support for the cost of your session, and, if applicable, other financial concerns that might prevent you from attending. These spaces are available and randomly assigned for each clinic through use of the signup form below. We’ll refresh the pool each season, so please come back to add your name for the next season.
Why a signup process? Our model depends on client engagement in order to increase our impact and to ensure a living wage for our team, keeping the circle of support going. Knowing when you're available to attend is an important piece of this.
How it Works
If you’re interested, fill out the brief form below to tell us about yourself. There is no income verification. This is not charity, not a scholarship, and not based on merit. Your form is your intent to participate, and tells us which clinics you could attend so we can ensure we are as fully booked and fully staffed as possible. It also lets us know if there are additional financial concerns for you to be able to attend a clinic, so that we can offer some support for these.
We will allocate $90 from our community fund toward meeting your needs to join us for a clinic. This is intended to cover your clinic payment ($45) as well as other financial concerns that may prevent your attendance, like childcare or transportation. If the cost of your session is your main concern, you have the option to use the additional funds to attend a second clinic.
If you are able, contribute any amount at the time of your appointment, and we’ll cycle those funds back through to pay it forward to someone else.
Once we randomly select the recipients (in the weeks leading up to each clinic), we will contact you to let you know if you have been selected and if so, to make a plan for you to join us!
