Most of our lives move at a pace that is overwhelmingly difficult to maintain. Rest and relaxation become things on our to-do lists that we put off so that we can get more done. Over time we can lose sight of what it feels like to move slowly, do nothing, relax.
True rest, deep rest, is incredibly important. But giving the body the opportunity to diverge from the busy, cerebral narratives of life is not always easy. Massage is a way to find the deep breathing, nonthinking, feeling of the intuitive body. If there is tension and anxiety in a person, slowing down and tending to the body during a massage can create a spaciousness that allows those feelings to be released.
I love facilitating the rest that is inherent to a massage session, while also addressing the aches and pains of the musculoskeletal system. The true gift of our time together seems to be the post-massage feeling of lightness and calm that the body rarely gets to experience. It is incredibly restorative.
Each session is different and catered to the needs of the day. Before your massage I ask a lot of questions and we set an intention for our time together. I am deeply honored to be trusted and grateful for the opportunity to do a job that I truly love.
